This interactive map combines current observations, radar, satellite imagery, National Weather Service alerts and national outlooks. Use the controls to build the weather view you need.
Pan by dragging and zoom with the +/− controls or mouse wheel. Click anywhere on the map to open Point Weather for that location, including nearby observations, active alerts and the NWS point forecast. The CONUS button returns to the national view.
Use the layer control in the upper-right to turn radar, GOES-19 GeoColor satellite imagery, city/state labels, boundaries, NWS watches and warnings, SPC Day 1 Convective Outlook, WPC Day 1 Excessive Rainfall Outlook and METAR observations on or off.
The Weather Layers panel provides opacity sliders for MRMS/NEXRAD radar and GOES-19 imagery. Choose GeoColor or Band 13 Clean Longwave IR from the GOES Product selector. Lower the opacity when you want to see more geographic detail beneath either layer.
METAR stations are a presentation-only overlay. Use the METAR selector to display Temp + Wind, Flight Category, Dew Point, Relative Humidity, Feels Like or Station Model data. METAR symbols are intentionally not clickable—clicking the map always opens Point Weather for the selected location.
The Forecast selector controls forecast information shown on the map. Use Period to choose Current / Next or later forecast periods. Point Weather provides the more detailed NWS forecast for a clicked location.
NWS alert polygons show active watches and warnings, including severe, tornado, flood and marine/coastal hazards. SPC and WPC overlays provide Day 1 severe-convective and excessive-rainfall outlooks. Open the Legend for colors and line styles.
For a cleaner view, turn off layers you do not need. Radar and satellite can be used together and adjusted independently. Zooming in reveals additional geographic detail and county boundaries where enabled.
