...BLIZZARD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM CDT MONDAY...

* WHAT...Blizzard conditions expected. Additional snow accumulations

between 4 and 7 inches with total snow accumulations between 4 and

10 inches, highest near and west of the I-39 corridor. Ice

accumulations up to a light glaze. Winds gusting as high as 45 to

50 mph.

* WHERE...Boone, De Kalb, Lee, Ogle, Winnebago, and McHenry Counties.

* WHEN...Until 1 PM CDT Monday.

* IMPACTS...Whiteout conditions are expected and will make travel

treacherous and potentially life-threatening. Widespread blowing

snow will significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous

conditions will impact the Monday morning commute. Strong winds

could bring down tree branches and cause power outages.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Travel should be restricted to emergencies only. If you must travel,

have a winter survival kit with you. If you get stranded, stay with

your vehicle. The latest road conditions for Illinois can be

between 2 and 5 inches, highest across northwestern portions of

the advisory area. Ice accumulations up to a light glaze. Winds

gusting as high as 45 mph.

* WHERE...La Salle, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Lake IL, and Northern

Cook Counties.

* WHEN...Until 1 PM CDT Monday.

* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will

likely become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road

conditions. Blowing snow will cause sharply reduced visibilities,

particularly in open areas. The hazardous conditions will impact

the Monday morning commute. Gusty winds could bring down tree

branches.
