.THE SURF ZONE FORECAST GENERAL OUTLOOK...

A high-end moderate risk of rip currents exists today at all area

beaches. Confidence was not there to go with a high risk, this could

change with the late morning update. Beachgoers should pay attention

to beach flags in the event conditions change locally. A continued

high-end moderate risk or high risk of rip currents should be expected

over the next few days as onshore flow prevails.

.THE SURF ZONE FORECAST GENERAL OUTLOOK...

While a moderate risk of rip currents will be in place today at all

area beaches, the risk is expected to gradually increase by Saturday.

High-end moderate risk today is possible as the sea breeze pushes inland

and enhances onshore flow. By Saturday afternoon, there is moderate

confidence in a high risk of rip currents at the Walton, Bay, South-

facing Gulf County, and Franklin County beaches.

Based on communication with area beach officials, the following flags

are flying at area beaches:

Walton........................Yellow

1205 PM EDT Tue Jun 10 2025

.THE SURF ZONE FORECAST GENERAL OUTLOOK...

Offshore buoys late this morning were reporting a south-southwest wave

direction, with seas of 2 feet, at 4 or 5 seconds. As offshore winds

decrease over the next 24 hours, the trend is enough to cut back the

rip current risk along Emerald Coast beaches to Moderate. A further

decrease in surf heights on Wednesday should be enough to lower the

rip risk at all area beaches into the Moderate category for Wednesday

and Thursday.
